Weekly pool service
What's included in weekly pool service?
Each visit we test and balance the water, skim, brush and vacuum as needed, empty the skimmer and pool pump baskets, check pool filter pressure (filter cleanings are a separate service), and look over your equipment for leaks, noises or error codes.
How many visits a week can I get?
Residential service is available one to five days a week. Commercial and HOA pools can be serviced one to six days a week, Monday through Saturday.
Where do you offer weekly service?
Weekly service covers homes and commercial pools in Las Vegas and Henderson, including Summerlin, Green Valley, Anthem, Seven Hills, Southern Highlands, Inspirada and nearby neighborhoods.
Do I need to be home for service?
Usually not. We just need safe access to the pool and equipment, such as an unlocked gate and a way past pets. Let us know about gate codes or dogs when you sign up.
Is pool filter cleaning included in weekly service?
No. We check pool filter pressure every visit and let you know when a cleaning is due, but a full pool filter cleaning is a separate service that we schedule and quote for your pool filter.
Will you tell me if something is wrong with my equipment?
Yes. If we notice a leak, a noisy pool pump, an error code or anything else that needs attention, we let you know and can quote the repair. Nothing is repaired without your approval.
Can I pause service while I'm away or in winter?
Las Vegas pools need care all year, because sanitizer and circulation still matter in cool weather. Talk to us about your schedule and we'll recommend what fits your pool.
Do you service spas?
Yes, concrete and gunite spas, including standalone spas. We don't service above-ground or prefabricated fiberglass spas.
Water & chemistry
Why does my pool need to be drained sometimes?
Some things build up in pool water that chemicals can't remove, such as cyanuric acid (stabilizer) and dissolved minerals. The only way to lower them is to replace water. We test and recommend a partial or full drain and refill when your levels call for it; there's no fixed calendar for every pool.
What is cyanuric acid?
Cyanuric acid, or stabilizer, works like sunscreen for chlorine: it slows the sun from burning chlorine off. A little helps. Too much makes chlorine less effective, which is why levels are tested.
Where does cyanuric acid come from?
Mostly from stabilized chlorine tablets (trichlor).
How is pool water drained in Clark County?
To the sanitary sewer clean-out, never the street or storm drain. SNWA's guidance for private residential pools is a maximum of 12 gallons per minute; the safe rate may be lower. Septic and commercial properties need their own applicable guidance.
Why is there a white line on my tile?
Hard fill water, evaporation and the pool's water balance can leave mineral deposits at the waterline. A water test and a look at the surface tell us the cause and the right way to clean it.
Why is my pool green or cloudy?
Usually low sanitizer, poor circulation or a pool filter problem, often after heat, wind or heavy use. We can clear it and find the cause so it doesn't keep coming back.
Is a salt pool chlorine-free?
No. A salt system makes chlorine from salt in the water. The cell needs regular inspection and cleaning according to its manufacturer.
Does Las Vegas hard water hurt equipment?
Mineral buildup can affect pool heaters, salt cells and other equipment. Keeping the water balanced and following each manufacturer's maintenance instructions helps.
Equipment & repairs
Are repair estimates free?
Yes. If diagnostic work is needed to find the problem, it's billed separately and discussed with you first. We follow a quote, approval, schedule process.
Which brands do you work on?
Pentair, Hayward, Jandy and Waterway. We're an authorized warranty service provider for Pentair, Hayward, Raypak and Jandy.
Do you work on pool heaters?
Yes. We repair natural gas and propane pool heaters, from millivolt standing-pilot models to digital hot-surface-ignition models, plus pool heat pumps.
My pool heater won't stay lit. Should I keep resetting it?
No. Follow the reset steps in your manual once, and if the error returns, call us. Repeated resets can hide a flow, sensor or safety problem. If you smell gas, leave the area and call 911 and Southwest Gas from a safe place.
Should I repair or replace my pool heater?
It depends on the diagnosed fault, the condition of the rest of the pool heater and parts availability. We give you the facts and a quote for either option so you can decide.
Why is my pool pump so loud?
Screeching or grinding often points to worn motor bearings; rattling can be debris in the pool pump. A technician can diagnose it before it fails completely.
Why is my pool filter pressure high?
Usually the pool filter needs cleaning. Compare the gauge to its clean reading at the same pool pump speed, and follow the manufacturer's criteria. Don't open a pool filter that is under pressure.
Do you find and fix leaks?
Yes. We do leak detection and repair for plumbing, equipment, skimmers and pool shells.
Do I have to drain the pool to replace an underwater light?
In most cases no. If the light doesn't have enough cord in the niche to rest on the deck for the repair, draining may be the only option.
Do you offer emergency or after-hours service?
Yes, for commercial customers. Emergency service calls are available after hours and on holidays for our commercial accounts. Residential service is scheduled during regular office hours, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM.
Pool pumps, automation & lighting
Is a variable-speed pool pump worth it?
For most pools, yes. Pool pumps follow the affinity laws: power drops with the cube of the speed, so running slower uses much less energy. Actual savings depend on your old pool pump, run times, the speeds your equipment needs and your power rate.
Why does a variable-speed pool pump run longer?
At lower speed it moves less water per hour, so it runs longer to filter the same water. It can still use far less energy overall.
Which variable-speed pool pumps do you install?
Current models from Pentair, Hayward and Jandy, including the Pentair IntelliFlo3 VSF, Hayward TriStar VS 950 and Jandy VS FloPro. We recommend a size based on your pool and equipment.
Can I control my pool from my phone?
Yes, with an automation system such as Hayward OmniLogic, Pentair IntelliCenter or Jandy AquaLink RS, each with its own app. Some pool pumps also offer app control on their own.
Can automation be added to my existing equipment?
Often, yes. It depends on your pool pump, pool heater, lights and valves. We check your equipment and tell you which system fits.
Are LED pool lights worth upgrading to?
LED lights use much less power than old incandescent pool lights and can add color and light shows. Pentair, for example, lists its 26-watt white LED pool light as comparable to a 300-watt incandescent.
Remodeling & replastering
What remodel work do you do?
Plaster, quartz and pebble finishes; waterline tile, coping and handrails; deck resurfacing; ADA lifts; VGB-compliant drain covers; pool pumps, pool filters, plumbing and LED lighting; and GFCI protection on pool pump and lighting circuits.
When is the best time to replaster?
Late fall and winter. Cooler weather helps plaster cure, and the pool is ready before swim season.
How do I know my pool needs replastering?
Rough spots, stains that won't come out, exposed or etched areas, and frequent leaks or chipping are common signs. We'll look at the surface and tell you whether a repair or a full resurface makes sense.
Can I see finish colors before I choose?
Yes. We bring NPT finish samples so you can see how each looks under water.
How long does a replaster take?
It depends on the pool size, the finish and any tile or repair work. We give you a schedule with your quote.
Commercial & HOA pools
Do you service commercial and HOA pools?
Yes. HOA, apartment and hotel pools, plus commercial repair, remodeling and chemical automation.
Do you handle Southern Nevada Health District permits?
Yes, for remodel work that needs SNHD approval, such as equipment that isn't functionally identical, controller and skimmer replacements, and drain cover upgrades. We tell you up front when a project needs one.
What is VGBA and do our drain covers need replacing?
The Virginia Graeme Baker Act requires public pools and spas to have compliant anti-entrapment drain covers. Covers have a manufacturer-recommended lifespan marked on them, and CPSC recommends replacing covers past that date.
Do you install chemical controllers?
Yes. We install and maintain pH and ORP chemical controllers, and we recommend the PoolWarden for commercial pools.
Do you offer an energy audit?
Yes, a free energy audit when we look at commercial pool pumps.
