Pool Leak Detection & Repair

Losing more water than evaporation explains? We find the leak with dye testing, pressure testing and electronic listening, then discuss the repair. Underwater repairs are available when the leak location and pool condition allow.

Is it a leak?

Start with the bucket test

Las Vegas pools lose a lot of water to evaporation. The Southern Nevada Water Authority's bucket test helps you tell the difference before you call.

  • 1. Fill a bucketSet a bucket on a pool step and fill it to the same level as the pool.
  • 2. Mark both levelsMark the water level inside the bucket and on the pool tile.
  • 3. Wait several daysLeave both alone for several hot days, as SNWA suggests.
  • 4. CompareIf the pool dropped noticeably more than the bucket, you may have a leak.

Talk with our team
How do I know if my pool is leaking or just evaporating?

Try the bucket test from the Southern Nevada Water Authority: fill a bucket to pool level, leave both alone for several hot days, then compare. If the pool drops noticeably more, call us.

Do you have to drain the pool to fix a leak?

That depends on the leak and pool condition. We offer underwater repairs where suitable, but cracks need assessment before a repair method is chosen. Underground plumbing repairs may require excavation.

How do you find underground leaks?

We pressure test each plumbing line to find the one that's leaking, then use electronic listening equipment to narrow down where to dig.

Do you charge to find the leak?

Leak detection is diagnostic work, which is billed separately. We explain the cost before we start, and quote the repair once we know where the leak is.

Do you do leak detection on commercial pools?

Yes. We find and repair leaks on HOA, apartment and community pools, including skimmers, autofills and underground lines.
